We throw every SATURDAY 10am-Noon rain or shine!

Unless there’s a Highland Games on or the park is closed we will be out there every week. Let’s throw some stuff and things!

 

Out where?

Carey Ranch Park in SYLMAR, California.  Just look for a Neon Green Popup Tent and large folks in kilts throwing stuff. Usually we’ll throw right there at the baseball backstop nearest to the parking lot. According to the locals the closer field is a bit more dodgy and full of gopher holes (a pre-existing condition, not our fault) so the ball players like the far field better anyway.

 

I Can’t Find You!

The field is on top of a mesa and is fairly flat. There are 2 baseball fields there lined up within sight of each other so if you looked around and you don’t see anyone please message the Instagram account @sfvunderlanders or facebook group! There’s a chance there is a highland games on or a VERY rare implementation of the Benny The Jet Rodriguez protocol (If it is too hot for baseball the only thing acceptable is a pool day)

 

Parking?

There should be ample parking within yards of the back stop for the baseball.

What About the old location?

Times they are a changin. We have decided to begin offering our freestyle landscape aeration services to a new park.

Do I need to bring anything? Equipment? Etc?

No! We have been competing and practicing for over a decade and we have everything you need to get started! Bring a comfortable pair of athletic shoes and some gym attire. Water and sunscreen are also excellent ideas. The deeper down the highland games rabbit hole you get you may want to invest in your own equipment or specialized gear. 

Why isn’t there a caber?

It’s probably broken. You wouldn’t believe how often it breaks. We love tossing cabers too! Plus it looks very rad on social media. If we don’t have a caber please trust that we are either in the process of procuring another one or repairing the broken one. It is easily the most dangerous event, but with our coaching and safety protocols we try to find a way to make it accessible to all skill and strength levels!
